I've got two more hours before we head off to the airport and get on that plane. I am clearly a mixed bag of nuts at the moment....isnt it annoying that holidays just seem to fly by!?
I am wistful at the idea of leaving Perth again but surprisingly the thought of returning to Melbourne soil doesn't distress me as I thought it would. This trip has been an eye opener in so many ways. That every city has its ups and downs, good and bad. This one has been home for six years and there is comfort knowing that it will always be here - its unchanging nature makes it a place I would love to come back to yet cannot stay for long.
What strikes a chord though is revisiting the knowledge that it's not so much the place but the spark that makes it home. The friends that stay true and how much their presence means to me. As the years go by, these are the people I long to be with because of their generosity, warmth, beauty and heart.
