today's word is guilty pleasures

I am trying not to grit my teeth at the thought of waking up at some godforsaken hour tomorrow all in the name of work.

The weekend whooshed by this time around. Maybe its just me but I've noticed the weekends pending a holiday always streak by. Strange. Maybe evil forces are counter balancing the amount of rest time I am taking for the year!

I spent Saturday sitting in the hair salon for five hours getting hair extensions which was interesting but perhaps only in the first ten minutes or so. I ooh-ed and aah-ed as new hairstylist Tania weaved them into strands of my hair and then dyed it a rich honey brown but it got preeeeeeetty dull after the 50th piece.

Did you know that apparently there is a uber massive business in China where girls grow out their hair then hack them all off for big bucks? Supply and demand, baby! Despite everything, I am ecstatically thrilled with the outcome!

The girls and I sneaked out of the office today and had lunch at The Pub @ Crown. Parma and a pot o' beer made up for a better-than-usual work day. We reached a unanimous decision that the only way to get through the hours is to pro actively create opportunities to lift one's spirit.

Darling Thanh makes a point to look out for smiling faces, Marcie looks forward to gym sessions & time with the fiance after...and I line up a variety of FOOD to have at specific times in the day i.e 3pm is yogurt o'clock!

Its the little things, I tell ya!
